Hearing tests will be undertaken onsite in the BBM Mobile Health Facility with a custom-built hearing booth and premium audiometers with current calibration certificates. Noise assessments are undertaken with each move of the Mobile Health Facility utilising a calibrated sound level meter. Audiometric hearing tests will be undertaken onsite by a Competent Person in accordance with LGIRS specifications. Testing is conducted in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Regulations 58/118, AS/NZS 1269.4 Occupational noise management, Part 4: Auditory assessment and Managing Noise and Preventing Hearing Loss at Work Code of Practice. To ensure compliance with the above, all monitoring audiometric testing should be undertaken ‘well into the work shift’ so that any temporary hearing loss can be measured.
Workers will be supplied with the results of their audiometric testing on the day of testing including an explanation of the outcome and implications. A participant register and results of individual worker’s results will be provided to the Client and/or their RMP on express consent of the worker. BBM Health may also request consent from the worker to store their results to allow for comparative assessments to be completed on follow-up visits. Reports will be provided to the Client and/or their RMP within 7 days of testing being conducted.
BBM Health utilises calibrated 3M E-A-R fit Dual-Ear Validation Systems to measure actual attenuation. This enables fast, quantitative, objective and accurate results to provide a Personal Attenuation Rating (PAR) for each worker.
A report will be produced by the testing equipment and will be provided to the worker on the day of testing. The BBM Health Technician will review and discuss the results with the worker. A summary report will be provided to the Client within 7 days of the testing being conducted.
Spirometry will be undertaken onsite in the BBM Mobile Health Facility utilising calibrated spirometry equipment which produces flow-volume and volume-time graphs. Testing is conducted by a Competent Person in compliance with LGIRS Silica Health Monitoring, Health Surveillance for Crystalline Silica and Chronic Disease Management for COPD and Asthma protocols.
Workers will be supplied with a graph of their spirometry results on the day of testing. BBM Health will provide a participant register and results of individual worker tests to the Client. Results of individual workers tests can also be provided to the Client RMP for interpretation. Reports will be provided within 7 days of testing being conducted.
BBM Health utilises a calibrated TSI PortaCount Respirator Fit tester to quantitatively fit test all tight fitting respirator face masks including all N95, P1, P2, and P3 filtering face piece respirators.
